How to Build a Patch Panel #1: The Beginner's Guide

You've seen the setups — plate carriers loaded with patches, backpacks covered in a curated mix of military, humor, and pop culture. You want in. Here's where to start.

Step 1: Pick Your Surface

Morale patches attach via hook & loop (Compatible with Velcrobrand) fastener. Most tactical backpacks, plate carriers, and range bags come with loop-side panels built in. Our patches work with all Velcro-brand compatible systems.

Step 2: Start With an Anchor Patch

An anchor patch is the one that defines the vibe of the whole panel. The Stay Free 1776 patch works great for a patriot build.

The Hulk Mode patch anchors a humor-forward panel. Pick yours first, then build around it.

Step 3: Mix Sizes and Shapes

Don't stack all 2x3 patches in a grid. Mix in a 1x4 horizontal banner patch, a 3" circle, and a couple of 2x3s for visual variety.

Step 4: Leave Empty Space

A fully packed panel often looks worse than a thoughtfully spaced one. Three great patches beat seven mediocre ones every time.
